Impregilo and the Libyan Development Investment Co. have set up an Italian/Libyan mixed
company, in which Impregilo is a 60% shareholder, with a view to promoting the planning and
execution of important developments concerning Libyan infrastructures and the construction of
local urban settlements.
“This agreement”, comments Eng. Alberto Rubegni, Managing Director of Impregilo, “will speed
up the development of our activities in Libya, a country with vast potential and in which Impregilo
wishes to play a leading role in the execution of significant impending modernisation and
development projects”.
Impregilo already boasts a strong presence in Libya, in which it has operated successfully for
several decades, developing considerable technical experience and thorough an understanding of the
local territory. Some of the company’s leading projects include the airports of Kufra, Benina,
Misurata, El Wotia and Sirte, the ports of Ras Lanuf, Benghazi and Homs, the Ministries and
Parliament Buildings in Sirte, industrial estates in Ras Lanuf and Misurata, and the wastewater
treatment plants in Sebha and Tobruk.
