HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The second in the series of exhibitions for Libya's infrastructure and energy sectors is set to take place from 10 to 13 December 2007 following a highly successful inaugural event in 2006. Projex Libya 2007 will be held at the Tripoli International Fairground under the patronage of the General People's Committee.
Projex Libya is pleased to have been granted U.S. Department of Commerce Trade Fair Certification for the U.S. Exhibitor Pavilion as this show will be a good venue for U.S. exhibitors to showcase their products and services.
Projex Libya will comprise two exhibitions providing the international export community with access to Libya's priority market sectors:
- Infrastructure Libya - the International Exhibition for Libya's Infrastructure and Economic Development
- Energy Libya - the Libyan International Petroleum Exploration, Production, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition.

Great Man-Made River Project Authority
General Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry
Infrastructure Libya will address key elements of Libya's US$35 billion National Development Plan, including:
building and construction (housing, schools, hospitals)
transport and communications (airports, ports, roads, bridges)
water and environment (desalination, water treatment, sewerage and waste water systems and management)
power and electricity (power generation, transmission and distribution)
telecommunications (fixed and mobile networks)
agri-industry (irrigation, crop and livestock farming, horticulture, food commodities, food processing/packaging)
healthcare (turnkey hospital projects, hospital equipment and supplies)
human resources development (education and training)
tourism (hotel construction and refurbishment; tourism, heritage and cultural projects
commerce (business and professional services, information technology)
Infrastructure projects are high on the agenda with US$14 billion having been allocated to this sector for 2007 alone, representing 60% of the annual budget.
Energy Libya will address Libya's vital oil and gas sector and will present technology for both the upstream and downstream markets including:
exploration
production
refining
petrochemicals
During the next five years more than US$30 billion will be invested in this all important sector with the aim of doubling output from 1.4 mbd to 3 mbd by 2015.
Projex Libya will be supported by a high profile forum programme bringing in experts from around the world to present topics linked to Libya's current and future economic and energy development plans.
Visitors and delegates to Projex Libya will include key personnel drawn from Libya's government ministries, government agencies, utilities, municipalities, public and private sector organisations, multi-national and national companies, and trading agencies.
Last year's inaugural event attracted 2,585 registered visitors including planners, specifiers, procurement officials, engineers, specialist contractors and business professionals. They met with 141 exhibiting companies from 22 countries and displayed equipment, materials, products, technology, consultancy services, management capability and expertise appropriate to the expansion, upgrading and modernisation of Libya's prime sectors.
Projex Libya is being organised by Dar Arab, a member of the Al Arab Media Group, one of Libya's leading media and communications companies, in association with. Montgomery Libya Ltd, a member of the Montgomery Group of international exhibition organisers, managers and consultants.
The U.S. Pavilion and Exhibition sales for U.S. companies are being managed by TradeFair Group, Inc., based out of Houston, Texas. TradeFair Group Inc. owns and manages exhibitions, magazines, newsletters and online properties in the energy and industrial markets.
