The Libyan market re-opened to foreign investors in 1999 following the restoration of diplomatic relations. Visible UK exports to Libya in 2005 totalled £210.6 million consisting largely of industrial machinery for the oil and gas sector. Invisible exports are estimated to double this amount.
Economic reform is a top priority for Libya and there are ambitious plans to diversify the economy with the development of sectors such as tourism. Business relations with the UK are developing rapidly with numerous cooperative ventures opening up. Now is the time to explore this exciting new market.
As the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce ABCC takes an active role in organising and participating in events to promote Arab-British trade, ABCC is organising this event “Opportunities in Libya” on 25th April 2007 at 3.30pm-6.00pm
