Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce organized Sunday in Tripoli a panel discussion on financing industrial, tourist, investment and import projects.
The panel aims at promoting cooperation between the two countries.
It was attended by the Deputy Secretary of GPC for Economy Trade and Investment, Secretary General of Joint Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce, economic activists from both countries and the Ambassador of Italy to Great Jamahiriya.
The Deputy-Secretary of GPC for Economy Trade and Investment said that Libya have set up a plan to establish firm bases for investment through laws and regulations drafted and adopted by the General People's Congress.
He referred to the opening of a number of non-state banks that would participate in promoting economic development and opening new prospects before the investment movement in Great Jamahiriya by providing funding sources.
On his part, the Italian Ambassador praised the deep cooperation relations between the two countries and in trade fields in particular.
" The economic relations between both countries are going very well, specially that Great Jamahiriya enjoys big resources that can be better invested with the requirements of the international trade." He said.
The participants in this panel discussion will address the means to create a better economic cooperation between Libya and Italy.
The Secretary General of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce pointed out that these discussions aim at creating opportunities for funding small and medium projects, in addition promoting cooperation with Italian financial institutions to establish investment projects in Libya.
