Jana: New air route between Tripoli and Milan inaugurated

A direct new air route between the city of Tripoli and the Italian city of Milan was inaugurated Saturday with two flights per week on Saturday and Tuesday. This came within the framework of activating and promoting cooperation relations between Great Jamahiriya and Italy.

The Libyan Airlines Company has inaugurated this new air route with the arrival of one of its airliner to Milan airport, with a Libyan delegation on board, which included Deputy Chairman of the Board, Director of External Areas, Director of Marketing Department, Director of Transport Department at the Company and a group of people's activists.

The Italian Commercial Director for Civil Aviation underlined, in the ceremony held on this occasion, that the opening of this new route came within the framework of consolidating cooperation relations between both countries in the field of civil aviation.

On his part, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Libyan Airlines Company, affirmed that opening this air route was a serious step in promoting existing friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries , indicating that the company plans to widen its flights' network to cover India, China and America in order to open communication doors with all countries of the world.

The staff of the Libyan Airlines Company sent a cable to the Leader of the Revolution on this occasion , which in part, reads:

Leader of Great Al-Fatah Revolution,

On inaugurating the air route between Tripoli, in Great Jamahiriya, and the city of Milan in Italy, we express to you high gratitude and loyalty and materialize the ties of friendship that you sought to promote with Italy which, today, tries to expiate for the errors of the odious past that has transformed, due to your firm determination, to friendship relations based on mutual respect.

On this day that we celebrate the opening of this new air route, we pledge to be the messengers of the noble objectives that you have set forth for the salvation of all humanity around the world.
